More than half of American
households now have a broadband connection, according to a new study from
Leichtman Research that found that 53 percent of all U.S. households
subscribe to broadband.
The study also found that broadband providers make up 72 percent of all home internet services, up from 60 percent from last year. The study found that internet service is largely based on household income: 68 percent of all households with an income of more than $50,000 have broadband, compared with 39 percent for those households under that number. The study is based on 1,600 randomly selected households in the fall of 2007.
