Nance was born in North Carolina and raised in Florida.

She attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and received a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Meteorology.

She has interned with Laughlin Air Force Base Operations in Del Rio, Texas, as well as spent time with the National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She is married to an Air Force pilot and in her free time, Nance enjoys baking and playing with her puppy, Rocky.
