Reported by: Stephanie Harris Wednesday, Mar 4, 2009 @07:43pm CST People here in Abilene are joining with others from across the country to pray, fast and take courageous action for 40 days. Meet Jessie and Paije, two Abilenians with one common goal: to end abortions. Jesse says, "We can't just sit back and say yea I'm with you. Whatever we can do. If we can pray at our homes, at our churches, or come out we need to get involved." Pajie states, "I think that it is hypocritical for a christian to say that I love the Lord and then not do anything about it and I am not saying this is the only thing to do to demonstrate our love of God, but this is definitely one of them that is profound in our times." Through the Lent season, this pair has committed to taking a part of their day to protest in front of Planned Parenthood in the hopes of truly making a difference right here in Abilene. "Anyone that is involved in the abortion industry can always change," Jessie comments. "People do change and that is what I am here for; a change of heart." Come Palm Sunday, Paije and Jesse hope with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city. |
