Forged Checks

The Better Business Bureau is issuing a warning to area businesses about a counterfeit check circulating in the area. The checks appear to be a payroll check from Hartman Roofing. The forged checks have the correct address for Hartman Roofing however the company does not have a Bank of America Account.

The checks have been presented at convenience and check cashing stores, and are dated May 29. Checks are paid to the order of Robert Harvey and H.D. Mosley, both with a Longview TX address in the amounts of $491.11 and $521.67

The BBB suggests caution in accepting these checks and should consider the situation like a forgery in progress. Anyone with information regarding the suspect passing these counterfeit checks should contact the Abilene Police Department at 673-8331.
