Reported by: Sam Nichols Friday, Jul 31, 2009 @03:42pm CDT Just about in the middle of West Texas is a state park that has a name that makes one at least think of cooler places.
Lake Colorado City State Park lies between Midland and Abilene, and offers 500 acres of park land for camping surrounded by five miles of shoreline for fishing and hiking. The lake was built in 1949 to provide cooling water to a power plant. The lake boasts far more than just a place for baoting, it also has camping trails and cabins providing a fun place for families to spend time together. Lake Colorado City State Park is about 65 miles west of Abilene on Interstate 20. |
