Ruby Gregory of Abilene, 84, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009.

A funeral service will be held at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene, TX at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday evening October 13, 2009 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St.

Ruby was born to Hubert and Viola Carmichael on June 12, 1925 near Fluvanna, Texas.

Ruby was a bookkeeper for most of her life, and was employed with Russell Petroleum in Abilene from 1974 to 1990, when she retired. She was an avid artist for many years, and family and friends are proud owners of many of her paintings. She was a devoted single mother and sacrificed much for her children.

She is survived by her sister Earlene Adams of Abilene, brother Harley Carmichael and wife Jeannine of Sun City Georgetown, son Mark Gregory and Teresa Gregory of Abilene, daughter Kelly West of Plano, grand-daughter Megan Gregory of Abilene, grand-daughter Jennifer Keyser of Austin, grand-daughter Kristina Keyser of Austin, and grand-son John McGinley of Dallas, and many nieces and nephews.
