Doctor offices have been packed during this early flu season, that also means pharmacies are busier than ever. 

Pharmacists across the Big Country are working overtime filling prescriptions for patients who are just feeling under the weather, or have the full-blown flu. At James McCoy's Drug Store the arrival of the H1N1 flu has made for some extra busy days.

According to pharmacist Jason Heuerman, "We have had a peak of flu earlier than we've seen in a long time, contributed to a lot of our business"

Some pharmacies across the area have been so backlogged that patients have had to wait several hours, or even a day, to have prescriptions filled. Health officials say that most current flu cases are caused by the H1N1 strain.  The seasonal flu season, however, is just getting started.
