Reported by: Katherine Lane Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @09:17pm CST "People have been here because of the Lord, they're trying to get closer to God," said Eric Hart. "I've got some problems in my life, I'm trying to get closer to myself."
Hart has faced many hardships. "I've been living on the streets since I got to Abilene," Hart said. For him, the tent revival is an opportunity to take time to heal. "I've got a big heart as it is, but I'm needing the help myself with opening my heart up for God," Hart said. Others who attended tonights revival said they too are struggling. "It's been family problems and stuff," said Susie Cochell. "My mother-in-law started us coming with her and she passed away about three years ago and we've still been continuing to come," said Andrew Cochell. "It's kind of like a reminder." While Hart will go back to the streets after tonights revival, he knows he's going to be ok. "I have my heart and I have God," Hart said. "He's the one whose helping me survive." |
