After the massive shooting attack on Fort Hood yesterday, Central Texas hospitals are in desperate need of blood donations.
So far, the Meek Blood Center has not been contacted, but Frances Baker says Meek and the blood center at Scott and White Hospital have worked together for years. Baker says her center has received many calls from local residents wanting to help out and donate blood. If you are interested in giving blood, Baker invites you to come and give blood at meek. In case Scott and White Hospital calls for more blood, meek will be ready with plenty to give. The American Red Cross is also accepting blood donations, and urging anyone concerned about a loved one at Fort Hood to go to www.RedCross.org and click on the Safe and Well link. They can then enter the name of the person or search to see if their loved one has registered. |
