Reported by: Michelle Ashworth Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @05:12pm CST The center says they need to raise at least $100,000 by the end of the year to keep the program going. The poor economy has resulted in less monthly donations from surrounding businesses that used to support the club. Some local businesses are trying to prevent the center from closing by planning fundraisers. On Saturday November 14th the Brownwood Walmart is hosting a party in their front parking lot, to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. If anyone is interested in helping out, people can donate money straight to the club as well. |
