Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @12:30am CST Logging on to cheat. It's not an uncommon thing.
Thousands of people get on the Internet every day, and we found plenty of married Abilene men that were willing to risk their marriage for an affair. The world wide web is a breeding ground for deception. A place where con-men prey in the unsuspecting. Where the insecure can act like someone they aren't, and where husbands can cheat on their wives. To see just how many married men in the Big Country go on-line looking for sex, we had a producer make profiles on many popular adult "hook up" sites. The response was so overwhelming, our producer didn't want to show her face, fearing for her safety "The men were very aggressive, asking all kinds of questions, asking if we could meet up as soon as tonight" From business professionals, to Dyess airmen, and even someone claiming to be a school teacher in town, the responses quickly came in. And the ones we received were just a few of the married men out there. A search of a couple websites netted more than 45 Abilene men who admitted to being married! "I was shocked by the number. Absolutely shocked." "So it's basically a self serving motivation and a complete total lack of respect for the spouse." Dr. James Sulliman is a marriage and family expert. He says the Internet's a great place to gather information, and a great place to find trouble. Sulliman feels the discreetness of Internet websites and sneaking around often entices men to try it. "Sure the excitement....The excitement of the affair." We told Dr. Sulliman about the results netted by the profiles we posted. He wasn't the least bit surprised. "It's becoming more and more of a problem." Let's take into account an airman we encountered. The 25-year-old told us, "I got married because of love my wife, but I like a variety. Its kind of exciting because you could get caught." "Clearly he loves himself more than he loves his wife, and that always has the seeds of divorce implanted within it." Our producers says the airman's response was similar to many she came across. "I had to delete the profiles, because everyday I kept getting more and more responses. I expected a few, but not this." An overwhelming response from married men in Abilene looking to cheat....A doctor's diagnoses for this deception...deadly. "Fatal, absolutely fatal. Cheating on their spouses." Our producer spoke with one of the married men about her story, and if he would be willing to do an interview off camera about it. He responded by saying, "to get the full story, lets have sex and then we can do it right!" |
