Abilene Regional Airport is going strong and growing!Latest News-Airport Improvement Phase Continues -
Remote Parking Lot In Use While New Lot Is Being Built
Our improvement projects at Abilene Regional Airport continue, and the major upgrade of our parking facility is well underway.
As a result, passengers need to to arrive 90 minutes before flight departure times to allow extra time to park in the remote parking lot. Then a free aiport shuttle will take them to the front door of the terminal.
This temporary parking lot is located to the left as you enter the airport on Airport Boulevard, just follow the signs which are posted.
Departing passengers are now required to park their vehicles in the new remote parking lot.
If you are just dropping off or picking up passengers, you may still do so at the main terminal entrance.
The $5.7 million dollar parking and road improvement project will take an estimated nine months to complete.
This part of the total airport renovation project includes construction of the remote and covered parking lots, as well as improvements to the drainage system around the terminal building and some road work.
Once completed, our new parking area will have covered spaces for 731 vehicles with 101 of those reserved for rental cars.
