  • Messages for Bob
I remember that morning in the early 70's when Bob Bartlett reported for his first day of work in Abilene.  I was a reporter for KRBC-TV, and Larry Fitzgerald introduced Bob to our staff. It was obvious to me from that moment that Bob was one of those "what you see, is what you get" kind of guys... no pretenses... a man of integrity, and an all around class act.

I doubt Bob even remembers me, but I do remember him. The viewing audience of the Big Country has indeed been fortunate to have a man like Bob, that they can trust to tell them what's going on in their peice of the world for the last three decades. Congratulations, Bob, on your 30th anniversary.

Please convey my deep appreciation to Mr. Bartlett for his being my newsperson for the last thirty years. Bob has always been honest and fair in his newscasting, reporting, and journalism. The national media could learn much from Bob's experience and professionalism. Thank you.

I've always loved Bob Bartlett and Fran Adkins for many years on KTAB. Even though I am hard of hearing I will always remember Bob Bartlett and will never forget what he has done for everyone for 30 years.  I will never forget it all and keep it in my heart.

I haven't known you for 30 years, but the impact you have had on me during my time at KTAB has been profound. You have inspired me to work harder, learn more, and be a better person overall. Thank you for all you have taught me so far.

Bob, I think I was a few months behind you at KTAB but didn't stay nearly as long.  It was a great time working with you, Larry, and the rest of the KTAB team.  I think it was flying with you in the Piper that pushed me over the edge to the Air Force.  25 years later I'm a Colonel with a couple of thousand hours in the F-16...where does the time go?  The media experience served me well in the AF and I've got you to thank for the mentoring.  Best wishes in the future.

From the moment I met you Bob, you struck me as a stand-up guy. The entire time I was working there you always had a kind word for me. I really appreciate that, as it is hard to come by in this business sometimes. Congrats, on the 30 years on the air, we all are better with you around, keep it up. You are a bright light in this business.

What an exciting anniversary! I was blessed to call KTAB my first television home as well, and it was and honor and privilege to work with you, Bob. You do much more than provide timely, trustworthy news to the Big Country -- you set a standard that other journalists take with them wherever they go. Thank you for the lessons and best wishes for your future at KTAB!
