Abilene's Mexican Food tradition since 1937 we provide the very best in Mexican food served in a unique atmosphere.

From our famous Traditional Mexican Dinners to our Customer's Specials and our weekend breakfast, we're here to serve you!

Try our Mexican Fajita Plate Special, served Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.  Beef fajitas served with one enchilada, rice, beans, guacamole and pico de gallo only $8.49 with 2 four Tortillas.

Family owned and operated by the Garcia family, originally located at 434 Washington Street and North Treadaway Boulevard, ran for 62 years.

In 1996 "El Fenix Cafe II" opened at 3241 South 1st and Willis by Robert and Olivia Velez, daughter of the original owners, Domingo & Maria Luisa Garcia. Both businesses were run together for 3 years.

The original El Fenix on Treadaway was closed in November of 1999.

El Fenix Cafe, operating at South 1st and Willis inside Burrow Alley, is looking forward to serving Abilene for many years to come!
