To me, the speech wasn't the same old, "If elected I promise you this and that." She addressed her family and the struggles that they have had and are still having. Didn't try to hide anything about them. Took a swipe at the media that was well placed and well put.
Her speech sounded like she had written it herself and didn't have a speechwriter do it for her. It may have been an Academy Award acting job but she came across as believable and a knowledgeable lady. So what if she doesn't have years of "experience", everybody has to start somewhere and she does at least have some experience in government and I would rather see her as President if something happened to McCain, then someone that has been in the Senate for decades that would put in place some of the same old stuff...
I'm gonna shut up know before I put a kink in somebody's drawers.
By the way, I haven't decided who I am going to vote for in the election. I will gather information and make my own decision based on what I find out. I haven't ever voted straight party ticket and doubt I ever will.

I think she delivered it very well. To bad it was full of the same old Republican partisism. No wonder, it was written by a Bush speech writer before she was even picked. So much for- from the heart. I thought McCain vowed he was going to be above that.
Tearing down the other guy so he/she can look better.
I lost some respect for McCain last night.
I hope this doesn't get me thrown out. I'm on probation.

Well, actually, the original speech was written by a speech writer, but it was written for a male VP, since she was picked, they started from scratch using her information with her right there writing with them. She has lots of her own say in what to say. Plus, it does not matter what party, all the speeches are prepared by writers.
I think she presented herself in a very diplomatic way, a way that would gain respect from other nations. I will be very anxious to see her in the debates. I have a feeling she will hold herself just as high and strong as she did last night.
Yep, I was impressed. She even said things I have said on other comment boards, so I guess I am not alone in my thoughts. My biggest thing about Obama is that you cannot reason with a terrorist and welfare paying for abortions, and allowing babies to be killed if they survive an abortion. Having welfare pay for abortions takes away my rights as prolife.
Ok, look up pickensplan.com and join in his effort. He does not want money, he just wants people to show congress that the people of America are serious about alternative energy and American oil energy.

I think she hit a homerun with that speech. Being a former beauty queen and a public speaking major doesn't hurt any either....she's well versed in being on stage and speaking.
BTW "akellerman" -- Do you have a cape for that Super Moderator status? :D

I was relieved by her speech. Being jaded by all the back room politicians, it is kind of refreshing having someone that is closer to coming from "we the people". Part of our problem is having lifetime politicians that have no concept of what real world Americans face on a day to day basis. Our politicians today preach about what the common American is going through, yet most if not all, are millionaires who are coddled in their personal and professional lives. Democrats feel Palin lacks experience, particularly in foreign affairs. I seem to recall that same concern over Bill Clinton, but Democrats seem to believe he did alright. We need to give someone who is closer to being one of us a chance to lead. We all know that the professional politicians will say and do any thing to get elected and then go back to favoring the PACs and lobbyists and their interests until they need us to be elected again.
