I hope that subject line makes sense.
Is anyone else here on Clearwire, and if so, if you use Outlook Express, have they forced you to set up a new account incorporating Gmail into your OE? This happened to me!
I was getting email all day yesterday as I always do, but then last night all of a sudden, it stopped, and I couldn't even get email I would send myself. I called Clearwire, and the tech told me what was going on. He walked me through a new setup, and now I'm sending and receiving email just fine with the new system. It's a little more sluggish by the time it goes through all the processes, but does work well. I do hope it continues to do so.

I have Suddenlink as an ISP, but I use gmail for my primary e-mail. It's so convenient to be able to plug the gmail POP and SMTP server info into outlook and check your mail that way, or if you're on vacation somewhere without you computer and have access to an internet connection you can still check your gmail via a web based system. Also, if you change ISP's, you don't have to change your e-mail address. I'm very happy with gmail.
I also have e-mail addresses set up with Hotmail and ymail, but gmail beats both of those hands down.

It seems to be a good thing so far, Slapper. I like the way when the mail hits, it's there, and not having to either manually check for it, or set the mail checker to check every few minutes. A smoother operation, looks like. The Clearwire tech was also explaining how handy it is to check email remotely. Looks like a good move.

Not a good thing now! The lousy thing is scrambling folders. It put all my "sends" into the "inbox". Real "smart". I just trashed the whole mess, cleared it up. I don't know WHAT caused that. Not too swift.

I'm about ready to transfer all of my email contacts to just plain gmail. That lousy stinking mess won't even open email after I get it! Just a blank white page stares at me. And I am getting important emails today pertaining to my health. Clearwire, if anyone associated with you is reading this, you have blown it royally allowing Google to jam up the works. It just isn't working out. I'm getting so tired of having changes that won't work forced down my throat, be it with the computer, traffic lights, any and everything. Life just doesn't get any better anymore

It sounds like your problem may be with your e-mail client (Outlook, Outlook express, etc.) as opposed to gmail, which would be your e-mail server. Try going to google and signing in. You can check all your via gmail's web-based program. Google doesn't decide which folder in Outlook your e-mails go to....google is simply where your e-mails are stored until you retrieve them with the program of your choosing (or the one clearwire forces you to use).

Hi, Slapper. I'll sure try that, bud. It's been doing some better, but I need to check all that out. I've already got Gmail so that should be easy.
Thanks a bunch-

The more I try to get things the way I want them on that system, the less I understand. I've read all the IMAP stuff and none of it makes sense. The trash is full, I want it emptied on there, can't do that. There are other settings it recommends, I can't figure out. I just need someone sitting here to set me up on all of this.
