Please share your thoughts concerning the 9/11 anniversary with bigcountryhomepage.com. What do you remember about that day? Do you think American is safer? Has enough been done to honor the victims? Your thoughts could be read during a KTAB or KRBC newscast.

September 11, 2001, is one of the few days that rings clear in my thoughts. As I watched the live telecast the moments following the first plane attack, more horror unfolded as the second plane hit the other tower. I remember having a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach as I realized what was happening. I knew America would never be the same again.

I think of the victims and their families, and of America, every day since 9/11...not just on the anniversary. Every day we relive the heartache of losing loved ones as more troops die in this fight. The tragedy doesn't seem to end.

In the years that have passed since 9/11, we have seen many changes implemented across the country. However, I am unsure if we can ever do enough to keep us completely safe. Terrorists always have been, and always will be, here to stay. I don't feel we will ever see a definitive end to the fight against terrorism. We absolutely must be ready at all times for anything.

America is not just about baseball and apple pie anymore.

I can remember watching the news in complete shock about the first plane. Then watching the second plane, I thought someone was flying kind of low, and then, right into the other tower. I was in absolute shock, thinking all this was a complete accident, careless flying. And then the first tower fell down, and moments later, the second tower come down.

I was in a complete somber, not really knowing what to expect, confused at the tremendous loss of life, seeing nothing but papers and smoke all around. And pure fear in the eyes of the survivors. Shaky voices in the news room. A feeling I pray none of us have to endure ever again.

The firefighters, police, paramedics and volunteers were supposed to be the rescuers, and now, they all fell victim. I felt especially sadden because my spouse and I have been in the EMS field for over 20 years.

I can, and still remember, and can't really even imagine such loss and agony from the families.

Thinking to myself, this is not supposed to happen in America. We are supposed to be free from this type of terror.

Angry that we have people running for president wanting to sit and have tea and a pleasant conversation with these and other terrorist. It makes no sense.

It is easy to say that it was an inside US government job, but in reality, it was just pure terror.
