Hello from Midland

Good morning. My name on MyOpenForum is JaniceVickery. It was never my intent to post here, but since my name has been thrown around quite a bit (I'm "that moderator" who could never quite make Westxn happy) I'd like to explain just a few things before I return to my home forum.

Here you know Westxn as 800trunkerman. When I first signed up on BCH he was Honda05 and my name became JustCurious because that is exactly what I was. He came on our forum with such flourish of home-spun talk and vast health issues that I was convinced he was an unwelcome MUP. His very first post on October 24th was at 9:47am and he reported his first complaint at 11:37am. He didn't even make it two hours without being offended by a regular member.

Joining your forum helped to give me perspective. I saw that he really wasn't a MUP, he really did exist in Abilene, and his mode of operation was no different here than it was in Midland.

Westxn, I have learned through the forum and personal e-mails, is a nice gentleman who adores his wife, his pet bird, and his police scanner. And you all know he hates annoying commercials, certain grocery stores, Abilene traffic, and to be challenged in any way!

But it appears you didn't know he has been playing one forum against the other for a year now. While your forum provides a needed service to Abilene, ours provides a much different service to a much larger area. I want to be careful here because I don't come representing our forum officially, but I love that place. We have fewer on our membership list (due to our administrator's diligence at keeping out spammers) but we have many, many more posters who contribute daily, weekly, or monthly. Our active forumites range in age from 22 to 66: male, female, professional, homemakers, kooky, weird, gracious, and totally unpredictable.

When Westxn was put out with you in Abilene, he came to us complaining and professing his loyalty to his "new" family in Midland. When he is put out with us, he does the reverse, as you are seeing now. After a year of his "going back and forth", it has been more difficult for our members to remain tolerant so you see some of us peeking in over here just to see what the story IS.

For my part, I could never make Westxn happy because when he demanded (not asked) that something be handled a certain way, and I couldn't/wouldn't comply, he berrated me for playing favorites. Most often forumites would call him on something he said and, when the thread didn't go the way he wanted, he demanded the thread be deleted. When that wasn't happening, he would go in and delete his posts and then imply we were lying about him or ganging up on him.

The truth is, 800trunkerman seems much happier and more at home here than in Midland. You guys have your own "family" with your own habits, traditions, tolerance levels, and love for each other.

He had professed once again that he will never set foot on our site. I hope that isn't true. Hopefully he will visit from time to time and say hello. All of you are welcome. We are proud of our "family" too!

I just cant figure this out. My head is spinning. This is a forum soap opera. Is there a point to all of this. Things were going fine until today.

You are fine as long as you go along with the pornographic images such as a man's privates that was allowed to be boldly displayed on their Chit Chat forum for one long time. I dared to say something about that filth, and here came the whole crowd with their baby rattles banging loudly on the floor. All of a sudden, someone who objected to pornographic images on a web site became the enemy. I have been the enemy ever since. THAT is what MyOpenForum based in Midland Texas is really all about. They have a loyal following of long time members. If you ever object to something like porn, you instantly become an outsider, the enemy, as it were. That is where I made my mistake. We don't allow such images on our site here, and never will, thanks to morally upright moderation and administration. It will never happen here.
I am proud to be a member of such a great forum.

Wow, I have been reading through the Midland forums...and it reminds me of the old BCH forum. Not to stir the pot, 800trunkerman, but many of us here know you are hot-tempered and can flip in an instant. I am sure I will catch your wrath for even speaking up, as I have before. I don't think JustCurious came here to troll, I think she just wanted to see for herself what you say over here. Honestly, I had always wanted to read the Midland forums after you complained so much about them, but never had the link. Now I do. I am not sure what JustCurious has lied about, because from what I have read so far...she has spoken the facts. She has not resorted to name-calling, yet you have called her a troll and a liar. It just doesn't seem right to me, just my humble opinion.

well, Mr. Phinney (since we are using real names, and i don't mind mine being on the internet as it is posted at thelivingmoon.com website), the "pornographic" picture was of an iceberg. An oddity. That we discussed.

I believe your willful dissemenation of her personal information speaks volumes about your character.

I also find it interesting that you have your unedited version of the wal mart story over here, replete with the "enchilada-fattened face" comment. It is nice to see a standing testament to your racism. Mr. Phinney, there are a LOT of hispanics in Abilene. Several of them are my family.

i like this forum. Howdy is a pretty good guy. Not much conversation...but i like what i have had (other than, well, you know). My intention here is not to cause trouble.

However, i will always call out dishonesty when i see it. Westtxn, your habit of deleting the offensive stuff and then calling everyone liars is even noticed by the members here. you ruse does not work.

The rules of this forum say that there are no favorites. Does the admin know that you claim to be his neighbor and claim favoritism from this?

i am sure you understand, this individual has slandered an entire community. both MOF and Midland. He then follows this by lying about his statements, and calling others liars for pointing out that he says horrible things about people.

I am also sure you understand that people take pride in their homes, and these slurs are hurtful.

Further, I am sure you understand that he referred to her BY HER ACTUAL NAME, which should entitle her to some level of recourse (if even only replying).

Finally, I am sure you understand that his behavior has been shown to be detestable. I don't expect you to agree, but to understand. :)

Yes, i want to contribute here. But not if it means accepting his lies as truth.

I was thinking about joining the MOF, for issues, not attacks or gossip. I like to think this forum has values, and that is what I like here.

If you want to be treated like dirt, trashed and flamed, Howdy, it's your choice, but don't say I didn't warn you. I think that much of you anyway. ESPN is reporting that Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo has a broken pinkie finger on his throwing hand, which will sideline him for a month.

Romo injured the finger in the Cowboys' 30-24 overtime loss to the Cardinals on Sunday in Arizona. It was initially diagnosed as a sprain.

ESPN reports Brad Johnson will step into the starting quarterback position.

TStreetE has an irreverent sense of humor. :) He is a darn good man, and i am honored to call him my friend. Don't take his words seriously....he is a good man. That thread was an OOOOOLLLLLLDDDD one (as indicated by the "imported" before the name Lucidus....back before i joined a year ago). Since the other member was being rude, it was likely revived by our more irreverent members as a response to his statements of "keep all these MOFers away from my forum" stuff. That is all, nothing more.

Like i said, i am not here for trouble. That is not the man i am. My faith doesn't allow for such behavior. Karma is a good thing. :)

Howdy there Howdy. The post you quoted above taken out of context by itself does look a wee tad bad. You would just have to read the whole thread and all the others that Westxn (800) stirred up over there to get the humor behind it.

You see, the MOF forum is very lively with a core bunch that has been together for years. We truely are one big family. Over the years we have gone through more turmoil and rolled in the dirt with each other, and cried together over deaths in each other's families, celebrated good things, been there for 3 of our members who have survived cancer, and on and on.

We have some of the funniest, quick witted people I've ever seen in my life on our forum. There is no telling what might come out of someone's keyboard. But it is ALWAYS said & done in fun. If we seem to have swarmed here together as a bunch, it's precisely because it is such a close forum family. If you mess with one of us, you mess with us all.

TstreetE who made that comment, is one of the funniest guys over there. That was said in the midst of all the nasty posts Westxn was making about us; and it was said very much in jest just poking fun. More importantly though, is what you didn't see because it was posted in a private area of one of our forums - that would be when it was being discussed that some of us might come here, and it was mentioned to all to be on our best behavior and remember that by coming here we are ambassadors from Midland and should act accordingly. We really are some good peoples - just a little mischievious when we play. :p

I would just remind my fellow MOFs reading this though, that one should always pillage and then burn...in that order. Please don't do it the other way around.

Honestly, I had always wanted to read the Midland forums after you complained so much about them, but never had the link.

You seem to be the hall monitor here. First of all, Howdy, I don't know what you were reading into my words up there to Xeagle. Those words were definitely not said in a light-hearted way. They were said with the utmost respect, appreciation and honor a person could ever have....hence the salute (show of respect). If you go back a page, I was apologizing for calling her "Sir" before, after she mentioned her husband, I was correcting myself by saying "Ma'ma".

Xealgekpr, I am not angry at you, and I have never been so. I don't understand why you keep trying to make me out upset at you. We appreciate you folks so very much and the dangerous missions you keep to help keep our country free. We are also very saddened by the death of the Cooper graduate in that horrible war.

As for Midlander's post, as long as defaming remarks are contained within them about me or anyone else, I will report that, and take exception to that. We don't do that in this forum. The rules plainly state that. Any and all people from Midland are more than welcome to come here. But, no flaming, name-calling or bringing battles ("toys") from other forums will be tolerated. I feel I speak for our Mod in saying this.
