It's true the dogs boost morale of the troops, but they definitely need to be tested for disease before transporting them back to the States. When my hubby was recently deployed, he saw several dogs on the camp. He enjoyed their presence, but made sure he didn't get too close because they were wild.

i am a dog lover. i rarely see a dog i don't like (fighting dogs, those that actually fight not the breeds, are an exception).
I am the same with them as people in that i prefer the ones that are more down trodden. I like to pick the runt of the litter, the one that obviously is a little different. The one that i know can't be loved very easily by others.
when i die, i would be happy to know that heaven was full of dogs....they are such wonderful animals.

I love my babies (chihuahuas) more than I like most people. I think the troops should be allowed to bring the dogs home, after a quarantined period and a good vet check up. I think there should be a fund or program to help with that. My brother fought in Vietnam, he found this pup and it followed them for a couple of miles. The guys took it back to camp even though they weren't supposed to and called him Trooper. My brother told me he thought about killing himself a couple of times, but didn't because Trooper need him, and was always waiting for them to return. God spelled backwards is Dog makes you think. Here are a few of my fav dogs quotes.
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.”
-Josh Billings
“A man’s soul can be judged by the way he treats his dog.”
-Charles Doran
“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.”
-Will Rogers
“The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs.”
-Charles de Gaulle
