For those of you who think Obama is the Cat's Meow, read the following:

As I think about what it will be like with Obama as president
I would ask each of you to do the same.
Imagine for a moment, the very worst senario. Obama with
Muslim leanings in his background is our leader and protector.
We are attacted by Iran. Lets say it is really serious, it's a nuclear
attack. Would you rather have Obama with no military experience,
a talker, a self made political diplomat with Muslim sympathies
at the helm , A man who is quoted saying "if the winds turn
ugly, I will stand with the Muslims." It seems we are standing transfixed
waiting to see how all this will turn out! I can tell you if we don't wake up,
it will be our worst nightmare. We are now less than three weeks away.
I cannot , for the life of me understand whats happened.

This didn't come from me, so NO PERSONAL ATTACKS PLEASE. I received it in an email the other day and thought I would share it.

The president can be a total idiot and still do just fine. As long as there is a decent cabinet supporting him.

Im not one to bury my head in the sand. I not only read the content, but how it was written. The email was composed to create emotional responses using buzz word terminology.

I dont mind spreading info, I dont like spreading hate under the guise of info.

I am the last to bury my head in the sand with my son in law in Iraq for his 3rd tour of duty.

"if the winds turn ugly, I will stand with the Muslims." Said by Obama, he was referring to 9/11 and the war, that if things turned ugly in America toward the Muslims, like they did during WWll and the Japanese going to the camps in America, he (obama) would stand up against the American government and stand on the side of the Muslims........

Sounds lovely, dont ya think. I think the Japanese had pretty good living conditions for that time era while the war was taking place. I do not really agree with what was done, but the government was really scared of an attack within the states. Kind of like now, we are all a little nervous of 'sleeper cells' within America.

So, he would stand up against our America if the government wanted to gather possible terrorist to make sure there would be no attacks from the inside.

hmmmm

i would stand with any person that stands for freedom and liberty. Muslim, scientologist, or atheist.

I care little for "what" a man is, and more for "who" he is.

This email has been widely discredited as misquotes, fabrication, and taken out of context. If anyone really wants to hear the whole story behind standing with muslims.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Actual quote from "The Audacity of Hope" [pg. 261]: Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Obama did not say he would side with "the Muslims," which could easily be read as meaning he would side with the world's Muslim population even if it meant working outside the best interests of the United States. He said he would side with "them," referring back to his mention of immigrant communities and specifically to "Arab and Pakistani Americans." Furthermore, he was speaking of an "ugly direction" like the mass internment of Japanese Americans.

I agree with 800 on this. Reality alterting.

We already know exactly what an Obama cabinet will look like. Your statement above makes it even more of a reality alert.

It is all politics. I would not believe much of what either of these candidates say if their toungues came notarized. It is really about I want candidate A in there more that I don't want candidate B in there. I find it odd, always have, why the independant candidate is not allowed at the debates. If you are on the ballot, you should be able to debate.

You are so right. Even when Paul came out and made a statement about paying attention and not forgetting the 3rd party, it was ignored. I find that really odd. Like the 2 major parties are paying off the networks for not bringing news coverage to the 3rd party.

it isn't a payoff, it is more like blackmail.

"You do it the way we tell you, or you don't get any more 'special access' to our party's members"

The majority of America doesn't really care. They will vote with the name brands, and trust the name brands (Dem and GOP). And if the two party's ignore someone, then it relegates them to the fringe.

The exact same thing happens in science. If you aren't "legitimized" by the powers that be, you get stuck under the bridge with the rest of the fringe trolls.

Am i sick of it? certainly...but i will stay under this bridge. The people here are much more tolerable.
