i can't get my head around using threats of torture and punishment to gain followers. :(

I absolutely agree! That is what makes these signs even more funny.

You know the comment I made in the MOF about my friend saying they like the idea of 'repent and your blessings will be great'?

We are without sin, and instead of the old 'repent or go to hell', they like the idea of 'repent and your blessings will be great'.
