Hi MarianneK,
I don't speak German but wanted to welcome you to the forum.
I know that must be lonely at times and I sure hope you find someone to speak German with that.

All I know is Sudtiroler Gaudi Musikanten, and that's just a German band I posted on here a while back who play a Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass medley. Other than that, I speak Texanese-only.:D
Welcome aboard and maybe someone will come on that speaks German. All the best in locating them.

I recently spent the entire month of May in Germany, the Eltmann/Bamberg area. I speak enough German to get around on my own, but I'm certainly not fluent. Having a military base here is definately a plus....you'll run into some German speaking folks. Welcome to the forums. :D

Though my post went thankless, I would like to note that my dad lived in Comanche also until his passing in 2006.

Hi everybody,
I guess this is an old thread but I will reply anyway. My name is Diana which doesn't give away any German heritage, does it?
Anyway, I just arrived here from Arizona a month ago. So nice to see some green and REAL trees!
My username is Rising Sun Ranch because this is our new ranch's name. The ranch is a sanctuary for abandoned animals as well as a healing center for special needs children (starting to offer services to children Jan. 2009).
I would like to get to know a few Abileners like you guys out on these forums.
Talk again soon

Welcome on board. I've gone by a few names, but am going by 800trunkerman now due to owning a trunk tracking radio scanner. (It's a hobby/obession for my wife and I);)
I am wishing I was in Arizona about now. My allergies have literally made me sick and I'm going to the Dr. today.
That ranch sounds so nice! What a wonderful thing you folks do. That is great.
Anyway, I was hatched, raised and educated here, but lived in other area towns through the years. My wife and I moved back here from Breckenridge in 2001. Guess our hats are nailed down here now.
Hope you enjoy the forums though they can be pretty slow at times.
All the best,
800trunkerman
