The recession hits home in Abilene. The state reports local sales tax revenue is down 12.7% for June. That total is $350,000 less than June of 2008. The May local sales tax revenue was down more than $125,000. City Hall is faced with cutting expenses now. Where should they cut?

For #1, they could out about 3 levels of management in some departments of the city. Some departments have managers to manage the managers to manage the managers.
If they want an increase in revenue, maybe more higher paying jobs should be enticed to the city. Ya think??
