It's been a while since we provided an update on the KTAB KRBC digital signal status, so here goes.
As mentioned in previous posts, both KTAB and KRBC digital signals are not operating at full power due to a malfunction several months ago which damaged electronic equipment along with the transmission line on our broadcast tower near Potosi.
Over the last few weeks we have had a tower crew and engineers on site working on the problem.
The main transmission equipment which was damaged and had been sent back to the manufacturer (in France believe it or not) has been repaired.
The engineers believed it would be possible to repair the damaged transmission cable, however the damage was so extensive, that was not possible.
As a result...more delays.
A new 700+ foot transmission cable has been ordered for the tower. It will be several weeks for delivery as it pretty well comes straight from the manufacturer.
Right now we are looking at mid-September for the repair work to be completed. This is all dependent on scheduling the tower crew and engineers to return, the weather, and the delivery of the transmission cable.
Again, we apologize to our broadcast viewers who have not been able to receive KTAB or KRBC over the airwaves. We are making every effort to get the stations back up to full power as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience.
