Hey that is great isn't it!
But just now as some of the elitist/police state here in town are getting their beloved red light cameras up to further suppress the masses, now we will have a TAX PAYER BUILT facility putting more DRUNKS on the ROAD after every event.
Maybe a nice family will get their lives shattered now because Leroy went to a rodeo, got drunked up real good and pulled out on the hwy in front of them causing their car to roll 4 times, killing both kids, the mom and leaving the dad in a wheel chair the rest of his life. YEEEE HAW!!!!!
What I see is a huge cash influx, because now the cops will be setting out on S11th and Hwy 36 after every event that beer was sold nabbing about 10 DWI's which is more money for their budgets.
I hope the first time it happens and believe me it will, that whoever survives Leroy's drunken driving, sues that place under the ground and covers it up with all of the horse crap out there, because that what this whole thing is any how.
but, that of course is just how I feel about it.:D

Yep, a true alcoholic will get it if they have to do what they did years ago, and drive out of town before Impact "Impacted" the area. That will just give them a handier place to get it. Get that fatal wreck done a bit sooner. Not the brightest move they could make, however. I hear ya', Sparky.

There are places of business near there and all over Abilene that sells alcohol. Leroy can get drunk at any of those places as well.
Then let him get drunk at a private business and not at a facility owned and built by Taxpayers.
Where alcohol is sold there will be fights, assaults and drunk drivers. Just look at the trouble the poe-leece has to deal with on Saturday nights around here already, but they need more to do... right?
Hey, but whatever we can do in Abilene to get a few more drunks on the road, whatever the cost, it's worth it, because we just don't have enough drunk son of a guns out there and we need more. So if selling beer at the EXPO center gets those numbers up, it's what we need. There are way too many innocent people driving around that hasn't been hit head on by a drunk lately and by gosh here in Taylor County we aim to change that.

In order for this city to grow, we need the horse events at the Expo Center. It brings in tons of money locally. Don't like it, don't go. .
It is not that simple, and maybe it needs to be for you to understand.
I don't like the County selling beer, my choice, I won't go the the events.
However it doesn't end there. I can't just isolate my self from someone else's bad choice and it end there. When Leroy gets drunked up at an event that I chose not to go to, and runs a red light on Buffalo Gap road and makes me flip my car and kills my 5 year old, it still effected me, even though I didn't go the the EXPO center.. now do you get it?
by the way, the "growth" you want to badly also brings other things with it.
Way more crimes, drug crimes, gangs, and murders. So, growth is good in the respect that the city gets bigger, has more people, jobs and opportunity but there is a downside to having a bigger city also.

As for me, I am looking forward to watching a rodeo while sipping on a cold one.
and I respect your right to do that, just don't get behind the wheel if you are impaired... please.
Just curious. Does anyone know if San Angelo, Lubbock, Midland, etc, sale beer at their events?
I don't know, but it would be worth looking into.
Right now I'm going to get busy taking out a permit to open a strip club and porno theater by the Zoo Entrance:D:D:D
