The weekend rain was welcome, but it wasn't enough.

The Texas Forest Service is on standby for the high potential of wild fires Tuesday. The forecast calls for high wind and low humidity, a dangerous combination.

Assets from out of state are positioned in Abilene because of the conditions that have helped spark wild fires all over the area over the last few months. And they are expecting more of the same Tuesday as soon as the moisture has evaporated.

The Texas Forest Service has received help from Arizona because of that state's conditions, The team will be operating out of the Abilene Fire Department's fire training facility on East Lake Road, and there are more like them all over the area, just in case.
