The annual Zopapalooza fundraising event brought in $20,000 last year, but this year the event brought in $5,000.
Those working for the Zopapalooza event feel that the capacity permits enforced by the Abilene Fire Department contributed to this year's smaller amount of money raised for the Ben Richey Boy's Ranch.
The number of people allowed in the Zopapalooza event affected the amount of tickets that could be sold.
The Abilene Fire Department is completely supportive of the Zops fundraising event, but informed us that they were merely doing their job of ensuring everyone's safety.
As for the Ben Richey Boys Ranch, they are merely appreciative of any money raised by members of the community.
