It's that time of year again, when high school students are thinking about prom.

Who to go with, which friends to tag along with, and what to wear.
Although, not all students are able to afford prom attire and one high school is doing something to change that.

Abilene High School's Student Council is hosting, "Cinderella's Closet."
The group is collecting prom attire for both girls and boys, to be donated to those in need.

"We have noticed a need for, especially young ladies to have prom appropriate attire that could not afford it," said Jennifer Jordan, Prom Sponsor.

The student council members at AHS say it's important to give back.

"One of my passions is to help other people to accomplish things that they aren't already  able to accomplish and for girls my age that are under privileged and that don't have that privilege to be able to attend school activities like prom due to financial  reasons, i think that  people that are able to do that should step up and help out in that area," said Bradye Waddell, Abilene High School Student Council Member.

Cinderella's Closet is not just for the ladies but also for that Prince Charming but they've barely received any donations on men's attire.

"That's what we are needing the most, sports jackets for guys and ties and nice shoes and stuff like that so guys can go to," said Katayln Macke, AHS Council Member.

Jordan said that there is a big need for donations at Abilene High School.

"We are about 50% low socioeconomic status, so yes, there is definitely a need," said Jordan.

If you have an dresses in your closet that you no longer wear and would like to donate them to Abilene High School, you can drop them off at AHS.
