Senior Spotlight: Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise in the US, especially among senior citizens, and now local diabetics can have individual plans to live a healthier life.
Medical nutrition therapy is a new program at the Hendrick Medical Center designed to help those with diabetes live a healthier life based on individual needs.
The program began in January and dieticians say having a personalized plan is beneficial for diabetic seniors who are on the road to better health.
A message many dieticians want seniors without diabetes to know is to take the preventive measures to reduce the risk of diabetes, so that the growing number might someday take a turn.
