A local high school has been working to add an additional period to their school day.
It's been 4 years in the works and students at Wylie High School will soon have to attend 8th period.
8th period would mean students would start school earlier and leave about 3:35.
Principal, Mitch Davis says this would be a positive thing because it means more electives for the students.
School officials are still trying to work on the details of 8th period, but it has been finalized and will be added this fall for the 2009/2010 school year.
