APD: 111 DWIs in 2009

 On Wednesday, at about 12:15 A.M., Officer Wilson responded to a disturbance call in the 1700 block of South 22nd. Officer Wilson contacted a 21 year old white male who was involved in the disturbance. Officer Wilson began to arrest the suspect, who fought with the officer. The suspect was subdued and arrested for Assault On A Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Marijuana.

This morning, at about 1:15 A.M., Sgt Jordan and Officer Holmes stopped a vehicle in the 3500 block of Buffalo Gap road. The driver, an 18 year old white male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. This incident marks the 111th DWI incident in Abilene since January 1st.
