APD: DWI Crisis?

On Wednesday, at about 4:55 P.M., Officer Hutchinson responded to a vehicle accident call at Highway 36 and Loop 322. Officer Hutchinson contacted a 57 year old white male who was one of the drivers in the accident. This subject was intoxicated and was arrested for 3rd degree felony DWI with an Accident. He later provided a breath specimen that was approximately 3 times the legal limit and the suspect also had 3 prior convictions for DWI. Later, at about 7:27 P.M., Officer Peavy responded to a vehicle accident call in the 6000 block of Buffalo Gap. Officer Peavy contacted one of the drivers who was a 59 year old white male. This subject was intoxicated and was arrested for DWI with an Accident. As of this report, there have been 121 DWI incidents in Abilene since January 1st. Please, dont drink and drive.
