The yellow, green and blue pills, shaped like Bart Simpson and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, are similar to Ecstasy mimic pills the Drug Enforcement Administration said were recently found in Oklahoma and Oregon.
Tommy McGrue, 22, of Bedford, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and on a warrant from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department.
About 15 pills were found in a bag that was pushed under a seat in McGrue's car.
Police said a field test indicated that some of the pills contained Ecstasy and others contained different illegal drugs.
Parents said news of the pills has them ready to talk to their children about the new drugs.
"Well if they found it, it's here. It's already here," parent Karen Priestner said. "It's just a matter of letting everyone know what it is and the effects it can have."
