Like it or not, twitter is the next big thing that you're just not going to get away from. We "tweet" for bigcountryhomepage.com and the KRBC weather team tweets too!Once you've figured it out, come follow us at @bigcountryhome and @krbcwx.
Let PC Mike explain how it works:
Forget email, forget websites and blogs.
These days, social networking is all the rage and the one craze that everyone keeps talking about is twitter, which uses short 140-character postings to alert friends, family, and followers to what's happening in your world.
Millions join every month and there are lots of tools to help you twitter better.
Not sure how twitter works?
Start out on twitter.com where you can get a free account.
Then head to the official twitter blog, where there's a lot of frequently asked questions and answers.
The twitter site also has a find people form that lets you find friends.
But here's a tip on how to get people to follow you, start by following them.
A service called flash tweet offers a mass follow tool.
Find someone you like, and follow their friends and you can add hundreds of new followers almost overnight.
Here's another very handy twitter helper: tweet later.
The free version helps you track replies, unfollow those who unfollow you, send automatic messages to new followers and even schedule your tweets, or the 140 word messages you send.
The retweetist site gives you a list of the most popular tweets on the net.
Twitpic lets you send photos.
Tweetburner lets you shorten the url addresses of interesting things you want to send out of interesting web pages.
Twitscoop lets you search topics, keywords, or people to see what's being posted in real time.
And twitter background gallery lets you customize the look of your twitter page.
