Sports Chairs Available for Mayor's Round-Up

By: Alisa Hail
Updated: April 7, 2009
The annual Mayor's Round-Up is adding a new event this year thanks to the ideas of the Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness, and the generous contributions of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.

In an effort to reach as many people as possible who wish to take part in this community event, the Mayor's Round-Up 5K Run/Walk will feature a wheelchair race this year, along with a new family mile run.

Light-weight sport wheelchairs will be available upon a first come, first serve basis.

Interested parties who are planning to participate in the wheelchair race and would like to use a sports chair are advised to register early and note their request on their registration form.

To guarantee the receipt of a race number, participant bag, and t-shirt, participants in all events should register before April 11th.

Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There is also a 1 Mile Family Fun Run

The event will be Saturday, April 18th starting at City Hall located at 555 Walnut Street.
