You may want to help the environment and join a nationwide effort to plant trees across Texas and the United States. Today is the 137th anniversary of arbor day. The last Friday in the month of April is set aside as a day across America to celebrate the planting and care of trees.

Locally Dyess Air Force Base has been recognized for many years as a  "Tree City USA," along with 64 other cities across Texas by National Arbor Day Foundation for efforts in urban forestry.
