The cadets of Academy #48 will have completed 25 weeks of intensive academic, physical and mentally challenging training, according to a press release.

After being sworn in, the cadets will spend 15 weeks of on-the-street training with senior officers before serving in their full capacity as police officers.

The firefighter who will be sworn in will begin as an arson investigator for the Abilene Fire Department.

The public safety dispatchers will have completed 720 hours of computer, dispatch and academic training when they graduate.
