On Monday, at about 09:15 A.M., Officer Peavy was dispatched to a disturbance in the 2600 block of Russell. The victim stated her boyfriend, a 46 year old white male, had grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into a wall during an argument. A report was worked for Assault/Family Violence and the investigation continues.

Later, at about 8:50 P.M., Officer Burns was dispatched to a disturbance in the 300 block of Meander. Officer Burns contacted the victim who stated her husband, a 42 year old black male, had punched the victim in the back of the head during an argument. A report was worked for Assault/Family Violence and the investigation continues on that case, as well.

Over the holiday weekend, the Abilene Police Department conducted a DWI "No Refusal" program. For the weekend, twelve (12) drivers were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and five (5) search warrants were applied for. There were two alcohol related vehicle accidents and, thankfully, no fatalities.
