She stands in front of the classroom and teaches all day, and she says that's the best part.

"That's my very favorite part, that's what I love to do on a daily basis, work with them and teach them," said Amy Rutherford.

Rutherford has been teaching for many years and she loves every minute of it and her students think highly of her.

"When we are in the classroom she makes it fun because she likes to tell stories and jokes, " said Kristin Blackwell.

Daniel Fernandez nominated her and this is what his nomination form had to say about his favorite teacher.

"Mrs. Rutherford is one of my best friends in school and the most amazing model and inspiration to our class. She always works hard to make sure we do our best and will never let us down whatever hardships we encounter. She told us to try until we finally succeed, she always treats, us, all of the class like one of her own, that is what I nominated Mrs. Rutherford," Fernandez.

Her students add, when a concept gets a little too difficult for them, she does fun little things to make them understand.

"When she teaches us stuff and when we are doing work or notes and if we don't get something, we go up to her and she draws little funny pictures to help us, to explain it better," said Blackwell.

Rutherford says, she chose the perfect profession for her.

"This is where I belong. I just know it, you can just feel it," said Rutherford.
