Saving Energy Saves $12 Million

The City of Abilene presented its long-term energy saving efforts today at the Energy Awareness Day event at the Abilene Civic Center.

The city partnered with TAC Energy Solutions to reduce utility costs that could save the city $12 million over 15 years. Projects began in August 2008.

The project focuses on facility enhancements at 34 different buildings in town and include upgrades to mechanical and lighting systems.
