The Indiana Republican Senate race has been a hot topic leading up to the election and that trend continues as the election ends.
An era came to an end Tuesday night after Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock soundly defeated long-time Senator Richard Lugar.
The political rivalry began 15 months ago when Mourdock announced he wanted to stop Lugar from winning a 7th term.  Mourdock congratulated Lugar on his service in the Senate, while Lugar told his supporters his public service wasn't done. Lugar also said he plans to keep pushing for the farm bill and various national security measures during his last several months in Washington, D.C.
