The Brownwood Lions entered their game with Liberty Hill beat to a pulp, but overcame those injuries to beat the Panthers. Sophomore Mitch Sterns stepped in for Graylon Brown and led the offense to victory. Sterns threw for 169 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
He was helped along by the running game. Brownwood coaches put the game on the shoulders of the running backs and the offensive lineman and those 2 groups answered the bell with 169 yards in the ground.
Brownwood has a bye this week, and then they will finish off the non-district portion of their schedule with a road game against Manor.
