Playing for the State Championship for the first time since 1991, the Albany Lions lost to the Cayuga Wildcats in Mansfield Saturday afternoon.

After Albany jumped out to a quick start, Cayuga was able to come back for the win riding the legs of Texas prospect Traylon Shead.

The Lions lost to Schulenburg in 1991.

The Lions were the only undefeated team still playing in the Class A playoffs.  Albany beat its opponents in the playoffs by the average score of 38-6.
