Warren and his staff lead the Abilene High Eagles to a 28-17 victory in the Class 5A, Division II State Championship Game against the Katy Tigers.
"Unbelievable," said Warren. "Its an incredible feeling. You work and you work; you bust your tail. This is a win for the entire city of Abilene."
Warren said they faced an incredibly tough opponent and AHS won because his team responded.
"We made some great stops on defense," said Warren. "When we were able to do that, the offense turned right around and turned them into points."
Coach Warren said his staff was aware Katy would play Herschel Sims tough. They realized Ronnell Sims would have to have a big game if they were going to be able to win.
"We told him going into the week youre going to have to have a big game tonight," Warren told KTABs David Robinett. "Obviously, he did."
