Hollywood's biggest night is up this Sunday. The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will honor the best in film for 2009. James Cameron's "Titanic" took home a record tying 11 Oscars back in 1998. Cameron's newest epic, "Avatar," has already broken "Titanic's" all-time box office record.

It's up for 9 Oscars this Sunday.

Avatar's path to a huge Oscars haul could be blocked by a little seen, small budget thriller about a bomb disposal unit in Iraq.

"The Hurt Locker" also has 9 nominations, including best picture. "The Hurt Locker, because it did tie Avatar, and won the Producers' Guild and Director's Guild awards, has to be considered the front runner," says Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger.

The two films also go head to head in the best director category. Cameron's a nominee and so is his ex-wife, Kathryn Bigelow of 'The Hurt Locker'.

Bigelow's just the fourth woman to ever be nominated in the category. She would be the first one to win it.

"Even if Avatar is able to pull off something of an upset in the best picture race, I really don't see how Kathryn Bigelow can lose the Oscar for best director," predicts Karger.
