Fire damaged the Tige boat plant late Tuesday night.

Firefighters rushed to the industrial building on Highway 36 in southeast Abilene about 9:40 last night. Firefighters say the fire burned a pallet and a workbench. Lt. Greg Goettsch says investigators are working to determine how the fire started.

There were no injures.  Firemen say the sprinkler system kept the fire small until firemen arrived to put out the blaze. The fiberglass used in the construction could have created a lot of dangerous smoke if the fire had raged out of control.
