For the second time this year, a report indicates that the wind power industry across the country is slowing down. The American Wind Energy Association says during the first half of this year over 1200 megawatts of new wind power capacity were installed nationwide.

This amount is 71-percent lower than the amount installed at the same time last year. Manufacturing investment also continues to lag below 2008 and 2009 levels.

The report also indicated that installation of new coal plants outpaced wind farms for the first time in three years.
