We continue our look at the 2010 pre-season rankings for the Big Country today with a look at class 3A.

The Big Country is represented in just one 3A district and it is only the Big Country that represents district 5-3A.

Brownwood is picked to finish atop the district for a second straight season. The Lions are looking to go deeper into the playoffs than the third round they achieved last season, and with a number two ranking in the state this might just be the year.

Picked to finish just behind Brownwood is Snyder, a team that missed on the playoffs last season. Inexperience and a tough final three games ultimately cost Snyder a shot at the playoffs. But with experience no longer a problem the Tigers are bringing an 11th place ranking in the state.

The final playoff team from 5-3A is projected to be state runner-up last season Abilene Wylie. Wylie will have a tough time improving on a season that led them to the state title game where they eventually fell at the hands of Gilmer HS 43-26.

Big Spring and Sweetwater are projected to finish 4th and 5th respectively.
