In the race for the 13th Congressional District seat, Republican Rodney Davis is facing Democrat David Gill. Our question: what's in the Farm Bill that will help Central Illinois farmers?

Rodney Davis:
"Well what's in the farm bill is a strengthened crop insurance program, but it needs to be strengthened more and I think it's another dereliction of duty of republicans and democrats that they haven't been able to come together and pass a comprehensive farm bill this year even during one of the most extensive droughts of our generation. I think it's a failure of both parties and I look forward in January, if I'm blessed enough to win, to sitting around the table and putting the issues to the forefront that I hear on a daily basis from farmers and those in agribusiness throughout the 13th congressional district . "

David Gill:
"Well I think that we need appropriate crop insurance within the farm bill. I think that it would be nice to see something available for those who are suffering from the drought, I think that we're going to see more and more droughts as the years go by because I'm somebody who understands that global climate change is real and it's threatening and it's occurring today and we need to stand by our farmers because there's a lot of change coming over the next few years."
