Mistake number one: Most people buy their ticket over the weekend. Experts say the best time to purchase a ticket is Tuesday around 3:00 PM Easter time.
Mistake number two: Booking your flight for a Friday or Sunday. Fly on those days and you could end up paying twice as much. The cheapest day to fly is Wednesday; however, Tuesdays and Saturdays are also good.
Don't make the mistake of avoiding social media sites. Airlines often offer special deals to Facebook and Twitter users. A few to check out, Jet Blue Cheeps, and Virgin America on Twitter. Southwest, United Airlines and American Airlines have good deals on Facebook.
